Fresh set of bruises...

About a week or two ago a bunch of us are hanging out at Kate's when Ben and Bruggs decide wrestling is a good idea. So they go at it with me timing and all of us cheering and no one really wins but it was fun to watch. So we decide this should be a trend. Ben and Bruggs have officially started the BU Fighting Federation, or BUFF as I like to call it (I just gave it that name right now so it's going to be what I like to call it in the future). A mere five minutes later Garth and I decide to start the Topless University Fighting Federation, or TUFF (also name I just made up). I feel that we are pioneers in our field, so innovative, so genius, so... topless. I kept my bra on which put me at a huge disadvantage as far as trying to KEEP it on during the fight. So we wrestle for a while, me holding my own, no one winning, and the next morning we both wake up covered in bruises. Alex and Jesse also fought, but with their shirts on. They are a part of the old-school way of thinking and need to get with the times because TUFF is obviously cooler than BUFF. Garth and Beckie also wrestled but that is an extremist school of thought that I like to call KILL because we thought they were actually going to KILL each other.

So the other night at Kate's another night of TUFF is called for. It was me and Beckie vs. Garth, Bruggs, AND Adam Blotner. I was actually body-slammed. It was a good fight but way too long. Everyone yells at me like I should be killing everyone but dude, we were outnumbered, plus no one wants to fight Beckie out of fear of death.

Next Garth and I have a re-match which was all in good fun as well. Now I have a fresh set of bruises which I like to call battle wounds because it sounds cool. Not really.

So any guy who ends up at one of Kate's gatherings, you can thank Garth and I for TUFF. Many men have already thanked us, even if Beckie and I are the only girls wrestling.

Too big for my AIM profile, yet too good to lose

FVJules: Party Saturday
MechsterJ: Awesome... It's about time for a partay....
FVJules: You don't even know... I sent the invite to everyone on my buddy list
FVJules: My buddy list has like 75 people from BU and I told all of these people to invite whoever
MechsterJ: Excellent...
FVJules: And as far as I know I'm the only party
FVJules: I was supposed to be doing community service at 6am Sunday morning but I cancelled because I wanted to give the seniors like you and Nat something to remember
FVJules: I feel that is much more important than helping raise money for starving people
MechsterJ: Ahahahaha!!
MechsterJ: Awesome...
FVJules: I mean one of many helping at the walk for hunger versus the one and only person who can throw a fucking huge party with no cops
FVJules: You do the math
MechsterJ: I did... You're working for the greater good, Julie, and I commend you...
FVJules: Why thank you

MechsterJ: This is the symbol of your party...

MAIL TI-I-I-IME!

After that what I'd like to think is obvious, but probably is more of an obscure, reference to Blue's Clues I suddenly feel the need to discuss mail and how I as a budding adult am affected by it. To do this I will give you a brief summary of my mail experiences which I feel we can all identify with. So think of me as you, us as one.

Ages 0-5: I did not think of mail much during these years.

Ages 5-14: Everyone else gets mail on a regular basis, why don't I? I don't care what the mail is, I just want something with my name on it. Something that tells me someone out there is thinking of me. There are people that would write to me if I wrote to them, but that simply won't happen. I want people to think of me without me thinking of them, and I want them to think "money." Birthdays and holidays are very exciting times because the mail pours in just for me. I bask in colorful envelopes, cards with phrases I didn't read, and checks and bills that distracted me from said phrases. Then I am forced to quit mail cold turkey again, and every time it sucks. God bless relatives who are late with things or I might regress to a fetal position.

Ages 14-18: Letter comes in from high school saying "Your daughter shows up late to everything all of the time." Now mail is the bully you always liked because they always made you feel secure but suddenly smacks you upside the head. You still enjoy mail and still want mail, but certain mail must be avoided. You try to get to the mailbox first everyday and along with the hope and anticipation of mail for you that still never comes, you look out for those back-stabbing bully assholes.

18-19: You start paying bills. Bills come in the form of mail with your name on them. The mail you once envied in your childhood years loses its nostalgic appeal. However, you are still a rich college student who has all of the money you saved up in high school so these bills give you a sense of importance and dignity. You are so self-serving. Look at you. All grown up. Bills are small and few so you still like the mail. You still check your mailbox. You still get excited when something is for you.

Present: Today Carina told me I had mail and my first instinct was to run screaming from the room. Instead I yelled "NOOOO!" and remained in my room. I sheepishly squeak "Is it good mail or bad mail?" You know, the bloodsucking mail you now receive. Because someone IS thinking of you. Lots of people are thinking of you. BILL COLLECTORS are thinking about you. In fact they think of you so much you don't even check the mail anymore because YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW. Carina says good mail. I walk timidly into the kitchen to receive my mail from Mom. When I open it to see a $100 check I leap for joy and start making up songs about how cool my mom is. 20 minutes later I remember to read the rest of the card.

So to anyone who still doesn't pay bills: Mail is NOT your friend 99.9% of the time. It is evil. Evil. Until your birthday. Mail is still awesome then.

I need to keep writing this shit down....

Carina and I are good roomates because we both say completely random things that amuse the hell out of each other. I often bring the funny in the form of stories while Carina simply says things that are hilarious in such matter-of-fact tones that hilarity increases ten fold.

Such as:

Julie: He just disappeared for the ENTIRE weekend. What the hell?

Carina: You know what that means: Sex with sluts.

To my own credit, the other day Carina was just sitting there minding her own business when I walked into the room the and said:

"Ok, let me give you a quick run down of the pros and cons of the electirc toothbrush."

Life is good here.

BUSTies!!!!

In short, BUSTies was awesome. Angels and Reckless completely rocked the house which made me really happy. Erin Kunze and I were beaming because we were a part of both shows. Both shows won some tech awards as well but I can't remember all of them.

Angels:

Best Show Fall 2003
Best Actress: Julie Simeone
Best Supporting Actress: Julie Janson
Best Supporting Actor: Seth Reiss
Best Lighting

Reckless:

Best Show Spring 2004
Best Directors: Nat Boyle and Julie Janson
Best Actress: Elizabeth Tyson
Best Supporting Actress: Lynsey Woods
Best Lighting: Ben Cordova
Best Sound

I walked away with six BUSTies: Best Supporting Actress Fall 2003, Best Director Spring 2004, Best Show Spring 2004, Most Corrupting, Best Off-Stage Kiss, Best Cast Party. I am damn proud of that most corrupting award! I wore a red Beyonce dress and fish nets to fit the part. ;o)

There were TWENTY EIGHT roasts. I completely tore Nat to shreds and then started crying out of nowhere when I realized how much I was going to miss him. I'll say it one last time: BUST is losing a lot by losing him, thanks for all the support and inspiration. Love ya kid! My other favorite roast was Jonathan doing Erin Kunze because he also completely ripped her to shreds. Our little group of people was DYING.

Probably the best part of the night was the fact that Seth got the awards he deserved: Best Supporting Actor for Angels and Best Actor for Picasso. He didn't think he was going to win anything and I bet him that he would win both of those awards so now YOU OWE ME A COOKIE because I'm right. Seth definitely blew me away this year with his acting so congrats hun, you deserve it.

All in all, this was a damn good year for BUST. I got to work on two AMAZING shows with completely new people. Angels was one of the hardest parts I have ever played and Reckless made me fall in love with directing. I really can't wait for next year so the happiness can continue. For you BU people who read this, be looking for a final bash at my place next weekend.

If you're asking yourself: Is Julie dead? The answer, is yes.

So things have been pretty chill here at BU, things are great, things are chill. Then week o' fun rolls around where I know I am going to get bitch-slapped with work. I resign myself to a no-fun weekend. It is at this point that everyone decides to throw a party every single night. Friday night I stay home, I'm getting little accomplished. At 12:20 Ben calls and tells me there is someone outside my window. I say stop being creepy. He says, no really. He is outside my window. We go to Shannon's party. We get drunk. The cops come. Hot cops. Brenden asks them if they are strippers. I thank them for being so understanding and awesome. Shannon and I tell Nat that he should name the characters in his combat show after us. He agrees.

Next morning, Combat. Nat has not only named his roles after us but he has made them us while including himself and Shelby. Julie Simeone played me. My lines: "I really hate that guy" towards Nat and "Want to make out?" to "Shelby" and "Shannon." I concur with this portrayal of myself. I get to play a horny intern in Jay's combat. Piece of cake. So then, since I got my partying out the night before I say I'm going home. I'm doing work. Kate asks me to come over for a party. I say yes. I go to said party. I eat pizza. I drink more. I don't really remember what else happened. I'm sure it was something.

Sunday night has a no-pants party scheduled. I will not be going to the no-pants party. I am strong. I will survive. My Area AAS commander sees my away message saying this and orders me to go to the no-pants party. I don't say no to the military. At no pants party I start out in silk red toga. By end of party I am wearing a men's business shirt and underwear. This was a kick-ass party. Thank you area commander Ken. I do my wandering home act and pass out.

Today is the marathon party. I will not be going to the marathon party. I have a paper due tomorrow, a biology project due thursday and a psychology paper due thursday. I have not started any of them. I am so hungover. I have to be up at 5:30 every day this week. I have my field training qualifying test tomorrow. I have Ben's show Tuesday night.

I freaking love college.

PS Sean from NATCON is amazing. Damn him for living in Arizona.

LANCE P. SIJAN SQUADRON!!!!!!!!!!

Go to this site for awesome pics: www.xanga.com/duckmanx3

I have the ultimate dating plan all worked out. Seriously, it blows my mind how well these weekend flings work. This weekend there was this guy Sean at NATCON. Monday night we danced all night (I met him because he also knew how to hardcore swing dance, we rocked), had a blast at a little social event in a hotel room, then walked around the hotel talking and sneaking into secluded places. We ended up on the 22nd floor of the hotel looking out over the Denver skyline having a big romantic moment. I love this shit! Plus I have ridiculously hilarious songs to remember both he and Sebastian by: New Work Out Plan for Sebastian and Juke Box Hero for Sean. Oh, and Sean's from Arizona. Peace out! The soonest I will ever see him again is Field Training or next year's NATCON.

All in all, NATCON completely and totally rocked. I went to every single meeting even though I didn't have to because I was going crazy getting new ideas for the squadron. I CAN'T WAIT for next year. One night my staff who was there sat around shooting out ideas. By the end of the night we had a three page outline of new ideas. I am so happy that everyone is so motivated. NATCON completely rocks your world because you realize what you are a part of. 1200 cadets were there, there are 4000 AAS members and this year we all completed over 61000 hours of community service. Next year NATCON will be in Oklahoma City for the 10 year anniversary of the Oklahoma City Bombing (ten years, can you believe it?). We will be doing a huge memorial service that should get national attention. Plus, our Joint National Project is to become national partners with Wings Across and America to help them get the stories of the 400 Women Air Service Pilots out before they all disappear (they are all over 80). WAA will be advertising AAS on all of their national websites, brochures, etc. meaning this is an AWESOME time to be a part of AAS. Next year our Squadron will hopefully be running for Area Staff, making us one of 12 area staffs in the nation. I have never been so thrilled with ROTC. I really belong here and I really love this. Not only have I finally found Air Force jobs that would make me want to stay in for a long time but I have found an organization with amazing opportunities and great experiences.

Oh, and Easter was also a lot of fun. Mom and Robin made the squadron an amazing mexican meal and Lee told us great stories about his time in AAS and the Air Force. Everyone really had a good time. Thanks Mom!

Yes, I am SWAMPED with work right now and not sleeping. But I don't care, life rocks.

Wait more NATCON stuff. Monday night was a blast not only because of Sean but because of the dance in general. Losinio and I bonded and had a great time, then at the end of the night they played "I Am Proud to be An American." During the song all 400-odd of us got arm in arm to sing. Later I heard this kid say "Never in high school did I stand arm in arm with a group of people singing I Am Proud to be An American." That was how awesome this experience was. You just felt a part of something bigger and more amazing than you could ever imagine. For the first time I honestly believe that I completely fit in and belong here. Yeah, I'm still the weirdo that does theater, but hey, I'm an original like that.

Carina: God damn Julie. God Damn.

This is in response to yet another entertaining story.

First of all NStar finally caught up to us. Today I received a heating and electric bill for $1141.80. We will of course be fighting it but that's not the amusing part. This is:

sockerclown: Well I guess this means y'all won't be having your dancing around in underwear months anymore huh?
FVJules: Never! Dancing in underwear shall survive!

Then, the more amusing part. I have a concussion. Yes, from the German:

FVJules: Turns out I have a concussion
MechsterJ: ???
FVJules: Yeah.... finally went to see someone about the head issues I've been having
FVJules: From Monday night....
FVJules: You may laugh now
MechsterJ: *giggle* No, that's... That's not funny...
MechsterJ: *giggle* AHAHAHAHAAAA!!!
FVJules: Yeah, laugh it up
MechsterJ: I'm sorry, but that's just ridiculous...
FVJules: Try explaining it to a doctor
MechsterJ: AHAHAHAAAA!!!
MechsterJ: Oh, now it's funny for a whole new reason!! Hee hee hee!!
FVJules: Finally, I was just like... look, I was rough-housing with a friend
FVJules: How's that?
MechsterJ: Not bad, not bad...
FVJules: I saw Wilson at the GSU and told her and she was like "only you Janson"
MechsterJ: Seriously...

This is shameless, but too good not to post

Auto response from FVJules: I am officially the happiest person alive
NBoyle123: second happiest
NBoyle123: sorry, but you lose
FVJules: Dude, I took a gorgeous german's virginity last night, you lose
NBoyle123: damn
NBoyle123: that was the weirdest IM ever I've received
FVJules: I had hoped as much
NBoyle123: okay fair enough
NBoyle123: if I had taken a hot germans virginity, I'd be pretty stoked
FVJules: Especially this German
FVJules: He has ruined me for all Americans
NBoyle123: did he talk german to you?
FVJules: No, but he did have the german accent
NBoyle123: that's good
NBoyle123: german is a strange language

Carina: You realize that this is the most successful relationship you've EVER had?
Julie: Right?! It wasn't a one-night-stand, it was a weekend relationship! A perfect one!

*speechless*

Week Amazing has evolved to Best Week of My Life, Ever.....

First of all, best quote from this weekend: "There are two Germans and one Julie. They're trying to work that out." People thought the two Germans were fighting over me, which they weren't, but it's cool to know that people could actually believe that would happen.

So after Saturday, there was Sunday. After waking up to Sebastian and some awesome ROTC training, I went off to the new theater meeting, met back up with Casey and the Germans, drove around with them and then went to the Stage Troupe meeting where I won the highly coveted VPSP position. That's right kids, next year is going to be the coolest year ever. Not only am I directing an amazing show with an awesome AD, I will be AAS Commander and now VPSP. You can't make this shit up.

After the meeting it was off to Legal Seafood with the three Germans for a delicious meal. Then I got the only decent sleep of the weekend. I woke up to call from Sebastian asking me to be their Boston tour guide because Casey had work until 6pm. At first I was like, no sweat... until I realized they wanted me to be their tour guide in a car. What is a car you ask? I don't know, I live in Boston. However, after some map consultation we managed to get to the JFK Library which was completely awesome because I had always wanted to go there. It was the coolest presidential museum I'VE ever been to, I'll tell you that. I may even look into a summer job there. Can't help but get chills every time I hear "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country."

Then it was off to the MIT and Harvard campuses because they wanted to see them. Harvard is so pretty. Why didn't I apply there again? Oh yeah, because my life at BU rocks and I don't understand the whole concept of a campus. I prefer my grass paved thank you.

Next we picked up Casey and after some Soul Caliber (with me as Ivy, as always) we found a swanky Malaysian place right on Harvard Ave that was actually pretty decent. Good to know. Afterwards our pimped out Saturn Ion was pimped all the way to Krispey Kreme where they were giving out free doughnuts. I don't eat doughnuts, which is probably why I call them doughnits, but hey, my coffee was good. We stayed there for TWO HOURS with the German speaking German and me drawing my own explodingdogs (reference: explodingdog.com) on Casey's palm pilot which the NAVY GAVE HIM FOR FREE. You better believe the Air Force will be receiving a memo on this one. How could we let this happen? We must be better than everyone else in every way. Period.

Finally, we dropped off Markus and Casey and Sebastian came back to my place. I won't go into those details but last night was one of the most amazing nights of my life and not necessarily in a kinky way. But that's all for that.

Now I have a five page paper due tomorrow and a 21 essay take home test due Thursday... I have hardly touched either. Ole! But I really don't care, this week was so, so worth it.

So in closing, I highly recommended Germans. When I went to Holland a few years back we met the German boys team and every single one of them was supermodel hot. They all bowed to us when we walked by and mooned T (our coach) when he told us to stop flirting. After this weekend, Germans are only more awesome.

I like to call it "Week Amazing"

This week was so great. So, so great. I love everything.

To top off Week Amazing, last night rocked. Picasso was good fun and the party afterwards was fan-tastic. Not only did I get to see a bunch of friends who I haven't hung out with in way too long, Casey's German friends were ridiculously amusing. So amusing, in fact, that I took one home with me. ;o) His name is Sebastian which makes him even hotter and we're all hanging out again tonight. That's right, Week Amazing continues!

Wait, THIS feels like college

Monday: I attend lecture from Leo Bass, WWII veteran who was a member of one of the only all-black battalions. He also visited a concentration camp. Afterwards go out to dinner with Bruggs for great conversation.

Tuesday: The only day nothing happened.

Wednesday: UNI improper table talk on SEX moderated by Bruggs. Turns out Kunze, Ben, and Kate are also there. Afterwards the five of us drink coffee over several hours of our own panel on sex.

Thursday: Hang out with Bruggs, Ben and Julie F. We play charades until 4am.

Friday: Carina finds out she earned 32 credits while In France and can graduate a year early. I decide on a double major of Psychology and a joint major in Philosophy and Political Science. Go to the opera Tasca with Ben, Bruggs, and Julie. Drink (heavily) with Kate and Ben afterwards.

Tonight (Saturday): Going to Picasso and the cast party afterwards.

First of all I have never gone out so much. Second of all, it is becoming fairly obvious to me that I have established a great group of people whose intelligence I respect and whose company I enjoy. Third I love my school because it offers great experiences on a regular basis. Finally I love going to a school in a city that offers even more.

In short: I am happy.

In truth: I am SO far behind on work now!
