Julie the Super Hero, Part 2
Yeah so even though it's late Wednesday, here's what happened Saturday:
We (remember Beckie, Garth) went to see Marat/Sade at 2pm at the Huntington with Clint. I loved this show. CFA is fabulous and I love them for being fabulous in this show. The only disappointment was Marat. I thought the script was great (except that it was hinting at redundancy), the lighting, set, costumes, makeup, were all very unique and well done. The four singers and Sade were particularly fabulous, and I told Sade so when I saw him in the Student Village later that night. Jonathan once again sparked my huge desire to transfer into CFA for Stage Management but then I once again said to myself: "Oh yeah, over the air force's dead body." So oh well, I'll just have to go to the shows.
So the four of us decide we are hungry and head to a diner in Chinatown. We completely GORGE ourselves on food (the table was FILLED with goodies) and stumble out of the diner in search for more alcohol. As we're in the store we realize that the place only takes cash so Super Hero Julie and faithful sidekick Clint take off in their stunning clothing. I am wearing leather pants, a lace shirt, and knee length coat with fur collar. We SPRINT four blocks to the nearest ATM, pull out money in lightening speed, and SPRINT the four blocks back. Back up off us, Charlie's Angels.
So we head back to campus and split some Corona to settle our stomachs. Then we head to On Broadway's Batboy. What an amusing show. Brad Jones said that at one point he looked out and I was laughing so hard that he almost broke character and laughed. It was so random, but so entertaining. Plus most of the cast was...you guessed it... fabulous.
Afterwards we wet to the Village to wait for Batboy to strike the show. We were joined by Doug, Ben, and Feresz (who is awesome because he was also wearing Harley Davidson boots). We got a little pre-partying done while watching an infomercial for some 70's music collection. Quite amusing. Then it was off to Batboy's cast party where there was soooooo much drinking to be done. I met lots of new and fun people and remember most of their names!
Then we went back to 866 and Beckie and I wrestled. We did this the next night too. I am covered in bruises. Beckie is a tough little shit.
So this probably isn't as amusing to you as it is to me, but that's tough because this entry is more for me than you. It was more detailed and exciting and whatnot the other night but the rats deleted it.
In other news, Get Smart goes up this weekend and I am doing all of the makeup for the show because though the other makeup girl submitted a bio, she hasn't shown up to anything since the first tech meeting where you sign up for tech. Angels is about to start hitting crunchtime so between Arnold Air Society, Get Smart, Angels, ROTC, School, work at the Huntington, and proposing Reckless, I have one free day in the month of November. You think I'm kidding. As Dave Zines so eloquently put it: "you sound busy as a motherfucker."
I'm sure I'll have party stories after this weekend. Ciao.
PS I know I'm being completely lame about my theatrical reviews but I don't really feel that you care all that much. If you do, feel free to ask me and I'll be more specific.

C/Janson
Absolutely outstanding. You have done, by far, the best job at leading PT this semester. Not only did you know the verbiage nearly 100%, but you had the best understanding and best explanation of the workout. You had a very good command voice and you sounded off quite well with the army yelling in the background. And I must say no one has come close to getting the AAR back to me so fast. You were also the first to include the name of the cadet that you led with which is what I have been expecting all along. So now you have set the curve for the rest of the AS 200s. Now that I know it can be done, I fully expect the same performance from everyone for the rest of the semester. I am holding you accountable to make sure that happens. Thanks again.
C/ Ueki (Officer in charge of PT)
....Boo-ya. This is for the girl who didn't even GO to PT last year.

Alright so this weekend = Awesome but I already typed out this entire entry only to accidentally delete it before posting it so this time I shall be doing it in segments.
Twas a weekend of theatre!
So you know about Izzard Thursday night. Friday night was Women and Wallace and The Lesson as performed by Stage Troupe. Wallace was fabulous. It was such a good script. As for the show, Eric O'Keefe as Wallace was absolutely wonderful and we all claim him for future shows simply because he is so god damn adorable (and talented). The only REAL issue I had with the show was the scene changes. I could just hear Marcello screaming "You could drive 15 trucks through those blackouts!!!!!" The space really could have been used better. So that was an hour and half, and I was happy, and I should have gone home right there. But noooo, I stayed for Act 2's The Lesson. What a waste of fucking time. It wasn't the performance or the actors (the guy playing the professor was actually extremely talented, he had to learn what basically turned out to be a 30 minute monologue, Seth Reiss yelled "He's my hero!") it was the goddamn show itself. It is possible that this play would make a good read but to be performed, no. Never, NEVER, have I so seriously considered ending my life due to the horridness of a show. This was absurdism at its worst. It was completely self-indulgent and UGH! I don't even want to talk about it anymore, it makes me so mad that I was ever subjected to this show.
So after congratulating Sam and Eric on a job well done, we (unless I say otherwise, you can always assume that "we" means Beckie and Garth) bolted out and decided that we needed alcohol, NOW. Then we realize that we're at Playwrights and the stores close in ten minutes. So we run. I'm dressed in hotness as has been the case for me lately, but I say what the hell, and take to my Harley Davidson boots. On the way we see Clint who hands me a cigarette to calm me down from my anger. So I am sprinting and smoking. I'm so hardcore. This will be the first installment of Action Figure Julie. The stores were closed.
So we head back to 866 to scavage what's left there and join Evan for some Fusion Frenzy and Halo. Evan and I have decided that we are a terrible capture the flag team because we both want all of the glory for ourselves. I'm finally getting the hang of Halo AGAIN, I came in second place the last time we played. Then there was more but you don't get to know about that.
Oh, also, earlier in the night I went to the Huntington for my job interview. I was hired and am now pretty much broken away from Swansea. Considering I no longer have a room at home, it just makes more sense to stay in Boston unless it's an actual holiday. But now I'm realizing that NO ONE will be here over Christmas break so it'll be me, Carina, and Bobh. So just me. Oh well, I'll go explore Boston like I've always wanted to and drag Patty up here for a while.
More soon...

So apparently the "Seth" I've been arguing with isn't Seth Reiss. Whoever you are, stop talking to me.
So Seth has asked that he not be pinned for the dumb-ass opinions of whoever has been arguing with me. Yes you're saying: "What if Seth is just playing a joke?" Trust me on this one.
On a lighter note, Izzard was amazing. During intermission they played "Sex Bomb" and we all thought of Jer and wished he was there. Izzard had two fantastic outfits (with fantastic makeup, and a fantastic gun) and boobs! They were fake, but still, boobs. His blue colonial jacket lined in gold was the best part. Seth and I were 16th row orchestra pit, center. Awesome seats. Not as funny as Dress to Kill but still o' so hilarious.
And now to make you all completely jealous: We met him after the show, touched him, talked to him, were one with his presence. He signed my poster AND the "Sexie" thong that I had just bought. So I have a thong signed by Eddie Izzard. If that isn't the coolest fucking souvenir ever I don't know what is. He is a completely laid back guy and his eyes are even more amazing up close. We would have had pictures but the battery in the camera died. By the way by "we" I mean Me, Seth, John, Erin, Garth, Beckie, Shelby, and Shelby's awesome friend whose name I just forgot (sorry!). Garth wore blue eyeshadow for effect. I'm going to stop now because words really can't describe how fucking awesome last night was. And hilarious. So hilarious.
"To be, or not to be....may-be, what?"

(Once again, before you read this, read Seth's comment.)
Listen to me:
It's not about scaring the terrorists, it's about getting better, more efficient equipment so that we can use that instead of human beings. We responded with what we had, which included a lot of bodies, and I don't know about anyone else but I would much rather a piece of equipment containing two people be sent somewhere then a couple hundred people. People with families and friends. Oh but we need to save money. Who cares about them? You were probably one of those people yelling at the TV screen when the Superbowl kept giving updates about some of the soldiers who had been killed.
And no Seth, I'm not worried about being a war-monger, but thanks for being condescending.
I am a firm believer that we need to be taking care of our own troubles but we need to be safe to do that. I have already said that we need only bomb when we are threatened or have been attacked.
Yes, we did a good job of defending our country, we always do, but there is only so much you can do. If we just defend ourselves every time someone attacks us, then we will get attacked more because people will know they can get away with it. And don't give me this "they're going to do it whether we're powerful or not" because we've only been attacked on home soil twice. But no, them knowing that we would destroy them if they mess with us has nothing to do with that statistic. It's our great economy right?
If I say how I feel about the war JWF will call me Britney Spears so fuck that. In short, he was a threat, and we took care of it. My bias does come in here because Bush is my boss whether I like it or not so I'm not going to publicly post anything. Ask me after Izzard or something.
This is going to be one hell of a date.
(Before you read this, go read the comments from yesterday's entry)
Alright I was going to respond in the comment section but then I realized, this is my blog, I have one BIG comment section all to myself. So here we go:
Hi, hello, my rant? It's a rant. I was simply using the F-22 as a general example. Shafer, I hear ya, I was speaking out to people who may not know so much about the military and therefore using a pretty obvious example. And Seth, yeah, your damn right I'm biased because though I may be lucky enough not to be put in mortal danger, the decisions that I will make as an officer could put others in mortal danger. And when you are working in that environment, you want to have a wee bit more than a beer bottle. YOU are biased because you'll most likely have a nice cozy job where your biggest threat is a papercut and money is what matters. And don't talk to me about education. I worked with the Massachusetts board of education more than I ever went to class for junior and senior year. The school systems need more money but they also need some major reform. Massachusetts, among several other states, for example, is spending thousands on standardized testing when some schools don't even have adequate books. So don't make me look like some bloodthirsty war-monger because as (I think it was her) Carina pointed out, I'm looking to save lives, not take them. And oh by the way, do you honestly think that countries that are starving to death really give a shit about the economic power of America? And if they do, it's usually because they're pissed off and want to do something about it. Enter the US Military.
Thanks for listening guys. And thanks to the people who did have the balls to stand up to me. I'm always up for a little debate. Love ya!

Sometimes I consider becoming a Republican.
Okay, rant time:
"We spend way too much on the military." "The F-22 Raptor is a huge waste of money and time." "Why can't the military predict things better?"
FUCK you people.
One time a friend said to me: "My friend is a cop and people give him crap all the time for being a cop. But you know what? Who's the first person you call when you're in trouble? Who do you depend on and who do you except to be there to help you when you need it?"
The same thing goes for the military at wartime. When we aren't in trouble everyone bashes the military like it's going out of style and fights government spending on new weapons and tactical forces for us. But if something happens and we aren't prepared, it's completely our fault. You're so quick to call us mindless thugs and tools and "slaves to the system" to directly quote one asshole but do you have any IDEA how screwed you would be if there was no military? AMERICA WOULD NOT BE HERE. We have to attack other countries first so that they know not to fuck with us. Why do you think it is that we've only been attacked twice on our own soil? People know better BECAUSE THEY KNOW WE CAN DESTROY THEM.
(Disclaimer: I don't mean we should bomb random countries just to show how tough we are. I'm saying that if someone tries to mess with us or threatens us, we teach them never to do it again.)
And the F-22 Raptor. Do any of you even know what this plane is capable of? Yes, production has gotten screwed up and we need much more money than originally expected but the capabilities of this plane are more than worth it. (Read up on it if you want details, this entry is going to be long enough as it is.) What the Air Force is trying to achieve is NOT to make a new toy for ourselves. Since 1931 we have been looking to make the airplane the primary offensive weapon. For those of you that are slow we're TRYING to make it so that ground troops aren't even necessary. For those of you who are even slower that means LESS SOLDIERS WOULD DIE. This plane could do the work of a thousand soldiers, with two men in the plane. So stop your bitching.
As for blaming the military for "not knowing anything" FUCK YOU again. On December 7, 1941 you may remember hearing about a little something called Pearl Harbor. It was attacked at 7:55 AM and the Philippines were attacked at 12:35PM. In 1924 General Billy Mitchell predicted that the Japanese would attack Pearl Harbor at 7:55 AM and the Philippines at 10:40 AM. He was 25 minutes off of the Pearl Harbor attack and less than two hours off the mark for the Philippines. But Billy Mitchell was court martialed and died a bitter man because he was so ahead of his time that no one would listen. YOU PEOPLE NEVER LISTEN. This section of the rant is really going off but it's just how I feel.
So, idiots, start supporting the military because I don't know about you, but when I put my kids down to sleep at night when I'm older I'm going to thank God every day for the United States Military and they sacrifices they make to make sure that I can feel safe. And start supporting government spending on things like the F-22 because it is planes like that that will ensure the safety of more troops and of this country.
So help me God if any of you dare to argue with me in the comment section I'll slit your throat. My blog, my opinion, FUCK OFF.
Thank you, and have a nice day!

I had been meaning to post this sooner just to highlight how funny me punching Evan in the ear really was. Once I hit him Evan yelled out "Jesus I feel like Brad Pitt!" (May not be exactly correct, remember, half bottle of tequila.) Lynn says she's jealous because whenever she tries to be a mean drunk she can never make contact with her target. She said "You were aiming for his face but the fact that you got him as good as you did made it all worth it." So here you are:
"TYLER
Come on, hit me, before I lose my nerve.
JACK
This is crazy.
TYLER
So go crazy. Let 'er rip.
JACK
I don't know about this.
TYLER
I don't either. Who gives a shit? No one's watching. What do you care?
JACK
This is crazy, you want me to hit you?
TYLER
That's right.
JACK
What, like in the face?
TYLER
Surprise me!
JACK
This is so fucking stupid!
Jack swings a wide, clumsy roundhouse -- hits Tyler's ear -- makes a dull, flat sound.
TYLER
Oh! Motherfucker! You hit me in the ear!
JACK
Well, Jesus, I'm sorry!
JACK
Ouch! Why the ear, man?
JACK
Aw, I fucked it up!
TYLER
No, that was perfect!"
That will never stop amusing me. Sorry again Evan....well, kind of. =o)
I'm such a bitch.

Mrs. Labby was a soccer mom who traveled everywhere with my competitive team. My fondest memories of her are all from Holland. It saved us hundreds to sleep in a school with the rest of the teams instead of a hotel. There were about 25 of us in one class room. We rearranged the desks to form a big box against the wall and put the small mattresses we had been given under them. So you put your bag on top, slept underneath. Since there needed to be a chaperone, Mrs. Labby slept in a corner on one of those small mattresses and never complained. She had so much spunk, I loved it when one of our coaches would do something stupid. I was always welcome at her house when my parents couldn't give me a ride to an away game. She was always there for me when I was new to the team and was a total outcast since these girls had been playing together for years. She was such a remarkable woman, and I can't believe she's dead.
I'm not looking for sympathy with this entry. Since this has become my journal I needed to write something about her, I don't know, to make reality sink in? To make sure I don't forget her? I don't know.
She was one of the nicest people I have ever met and like I said, she had so much spunk. She didn't take crap from anyone, especially Carlos. I wish I could have said good-bye and thank you. I can only wish the best for Val and her other children.

Okay, a vast majority of those questioned agree that the girl in the commercial really does love the guy for some weird reason. Everyone else can suck it. On the same note, blondes everywhere are crying.
Here's Garth's away message based on last:
"Lynn, Beckie, Evan.... by day ordinary college students, but at night they become
The VOM Squad!
protecting their friends everywhere from the dangers of Dr. Tequila and his evil minions of Nothinginmystomachs!
Much props, Much love! You guys rock!"
I had four double shots of tequila last night. I had hardly eaten in two days.
My mission never to be "the drunk girl" at a party has failed. Casey responded to my dismay with "Welcome to Club Everybody."
I also punched Evan in the ear. I'll let you figure out the rest.
Wednesday, October 15, 2003
That's it, I'm taking a vote. If you have been watching the Red Sox you have seen the cell phone commercial with the dorky guy eating a sandwich, the blonde who takes a picture of him with her cell phone and makes fun of him, and the girl who says "I really do love him." So the question is: Is the commercial one big joke or does the girl REALLY love him? She really loves him dammit!
So far it's me, Casey, Dan Powers, and sometimes Garth vs. Evan, Carina, and sometimes Garth.
Okay despite the stress of this paper and midterm and sickness, the last 24 hours have kicked ass. Beckie bought Garth an X-box for their anniversary and it finally came in yesterday to Garth, Evan and I's dismay since we all should have been studying. At first we thought we were in the clear because Garth was broke, there was only one controller, and no Halo. Then Casey decides that Halo must be played so he goes out and gets 3 controllers for $12 and buys Halo. Studying soon ceased. We played two rounds of Slayer and I managed to hold my own despite the fact that it always takes me a long time to warm up to this game. I have retained "The Bitch" as my call sign. While Garth was the nice boyfriend and tried to help Beckie, Evan and I chose a different route and made every attempt to destroy each other with Casey joining in the fun. I must admit I took several cheap shots at the struggling Beckie to keep my score up. (sorry!)
So I was talked into sleeping last night and did so at 866 because they basically knew that if they sent me home I would pull another all-nighter. I was so jacked up on caffeine that the sleep wasn't necessarily fabulous but I was much more relaxed by morning. I had already accidentally broken my first rule of not leaving anything at 866 (I forgot my visor there) but was succeeding admirably at my second rule of not showering there until today. I couldn't help it, I stunk. So yeah, 866 is my official second home.
The game last night sucked but I still have faith. I will of course be watching the game tonight but for the first time not at 866. I miss Carina! Plus I have a ton of work to do. "Cowboy Up! GPA Down!" as Joe likes to say.
So the other awesomeness also came today thanks to Casey Hare (again). As many of you know I have been DYING for Izzard tickets but they have been sold out for like two months. Casey calls me today telling me that he just got word that more tickets had been released. Since I could only afford two tickets I contacted Erin Wilson immediately and she secured four more. Then I found Beckie and she tried to get two more for Evan and Yianni but Thursday night was ALREADY sold out again. So since the seats came in pairs it will be Erin and John, Beckie and Garth, and me and Seth, my hot date. Seth and I should have the best seats because they are 16th row center. I can't freaking wait!
Also, for those of you who don't know, Nat Boyle and I are proposing "Reckless" for Spring semester. He asked me to AD with him out of nowhere and I have to admit, I'm glad. We are both ridiculously excited about the show and talk about it all of the time. It's been a huge source of stress relief over the past few days.
So, in other words, my friends rule. I don't know what I would do without you guys.

I plan to be dead by Friday so if you don't hear from me much this week, don't be surprised. I have a huge paper AND a midterm on Thursday and since Julie really needs to boost her grades, I'm pulling the almost-all-nighters early and for the entire week. I plan on the Red Sox being my only amusement during this time so they better keep playing like they did last night except with not so much dependence on Todd Walker.
Luckily, if I don't die by Friday this weekend should be packed full of soda and fun due to Children of Eden going up, Get Smart cast and crew bonding, a possible Kubrick marathon, In Accord's performance and other tidbits of fun.

UNDERWORLD = Most hilariously bad movie I've seen in a long time.
The bitch is I still have to own it because there's vampires. There was one point when I was impressed with the plot twist but then it lost me all over again. The guy playing Kraven was SOOOOOOOOO bad. We all busted out laughing every time he spoke. In fact most of the audience laughed when anyone spoke.
Worst/Best jokes of the night:
John: "She's really taken a *Liken* to him!"
Julie: "You suck at life AND death!"
Casey: "Hey maybe the plot is in this room!"
Viktor's response to a question asking him why he's done the things he's done: "Yes."

Okay, let's discuss why last night was one of the best nights EVER:
First of all my original plans were: Work on paper, see two movies.
So I was feeling like crap so I did my usual and made myself look hot (leather pants, black turtleneck sweater, black leather coat, HD boots...hot, right?). It was a good thing because when I stopped by 866 to say hi to Beckie and Garth they invited Evan and I to come to dinner with "Auntie Janice," Beckie's godmother who, get this, works as a PA assistant to a general. She's not in the military, but she works as a civilian for them and she was one of the most AMAZING people I have ever met. She's been EVERYWHERE (including about 10 years at Ramstein mom) and has really experienced life to its fullest.
So not only am I in amazing company, we went to La Dolce Vita in the North End....one of the best Italian restaurants that Boston has to offer, not to mention ridiculously expensive. So she offers to pay for the entire meal! We all almost fainted. Beckie and I split a seafood pasta with right out of the shell lobster and crab. Plus we had calamari for an appetizer and a delicious wine to drink. There was a man walking around with a guitar and we had him sing his favorite Italian song to us (it was beautiful) and then we ordered dessert. THEN Janice sees that they have flavored grappa and decides that she is curious to try the different flavors. She ordered 4 different flavors for us to all split. I think this is one of the most amazing meals I've ever eaten/experienced.
It was an incredible night (there was more after but I'm not telling you about it) and I'm so glad that I decided not to study and sit on my ass eating popcorn.

Patty's questions to me:
Patty: Aww Julie I miss you!!!! MOVE TO UMASS!!!! NOW BITCH!!!
Julie: No.....bitch. =o)
1. Do you believe in true love? Why or why not?? And do you think you will ever find it or have found it already???
Not really. I don't think I'll ever meet someone who wants to live life the way I do...passionately. Men are so damn uptight.
2. If you could have one superpower or special inhuman ability... what would it be?? Why?? What would you use it for??
What's really funny is that you ask this in your fourth question. I would want to know EVERYTHING.
And not just book knowledge, I would want to know how to do everything do...well. I'd want this just so I wouldn't have to waste life doing trivial things. I would travel everywhere and see everything imaginable.
3. If you knew that tomorrow you would be in an accident that would paralize you from the neck down and you would live the rest of your life like that(for many many years), what would you do today?
I'd go for a really long run.
4. If you could know everything you wanted to, and never have to go to school again, would you chose to know everything? Or do you prefer to learn? What do you think you would lose by not going to school?
Just to clarify, I wouldn't know how to read people's minds, etc, etc. I would still want the social aspects of life to be difficult. I would still go to school so that I could argue with teachers ALL OF THE TIME. Plus who doesn't love college? I would be able to enjoy it more than anyone else because I wouldn't have to study, EVER.
5. What is your favorite memory of us??? What is the funniest memory you have of us? Do you think if we wrote a book about our friendship more people would consider making their best friend into their worst enemy and then back again? (Yeah, so number 5 is basically word for word from your questions, but I want to know your view...)
Same one that you said: Buying shitloads of candy and you teaching me the electric slide next to the Swansea damn. I also loved harassing guys in Newport because I love seeing a guy get whistled at and talked to like a piece of meat because they just don't know what to do. Oh and New Year's Eve....the list goes on.
I hope they would because it's the best way to go. We've seen the absolute worst in each other and our friendship still survived. We have survived the worst so I know we'll be friends forever. Right now you're the only one I could definitely say that about, so yeah, it could work.
I'm going to Germany and possibly Poland for spring break. That'll add two more countries to the growing list.
A certain ex's mom called me the other day to ask why we weren't together anymore. I was in a complete state of shock. I wanted to say: Because your son had the balls to test my trust and then found out the hard way that I am an unforgiving bitch. But I simply said: We he came up to see me there were problems. She asked if we were going to get back together again when I came home. I wanted to say: (insert maniacal laughter). I said: I'm never coming home again and therefore will never see your son again. She asked me to never tell him that I called. I hung up. Who does this?
The Red Sox are ruling my life. I've adopted 866 as official Red Sox hang out and good times have been had by all. Plus I get to see Beckie and Garth more than ever and there are some benefits on the side that I'm going to leave you in suspense about. Oh what the hell, I've adopted a dinosaur and feed it small children. I keep in 866's bathroom. Another benefit: 866 has heat while my apartment is an ice box....
Oh, shit. I haven't fed my rats in days!

Yeah so GOD HELP Boston if/when the Red Sox beat the Yankees. Last night after they had only won the series mini riots broke out infront of Fenway. Since I was at 866 to watch the game with the guys, I ran down to see the excitement with them. Sights included:
-Beer funnels
-SWAT team members
-People climbing every building in sight (you could hear glass breaking from when they kicked out lights)
-People running around shirtless despite the cold weather
-The usual cheers
-A car tipped over (Hopefully I'll soon have a pic of me, Casey, and Joe infront of it)
And the worst idea of the night, yet cool because they got away with it:
Like 20 people climbed onto a billboard for Jillian's and two guys BURNED a Yankees blanket. The whole thing went up in flames and we were all just waiting for either the two guys, the billboard, or the building they were letting the blanket pieces fall onto to light on fire. One guy's jeans caught for a second, but he saw it in time.
The whole thing was pretty damn awesome and I can't wait for the riots if/when they beat the Yankees.
GO SOX! YANKEES SUCK!

One rat.....Two...Oh crap
So I had my first big rat scare today. I walked into the room to see the top of the cage open and only one rat sleeping in the cage. Eris was gone. Also there was a mess on the floor where their bag of shavings had gotten knocked over. The funny thing is me coming in woke Scarlet up and she was as surprised as I was that Eris was gone. "God dammit I could have gotten out too!" she seemed to say. So I begin the search. Bedroom=no rat. Bathroom=no rat. Living room/kitchen=no rat. Carina's walk-in closet=no rat. Carina's room=not checking because she's in there with Bobh. So I go back in my room and sit down calmly- there's simply not much I can do but keep an eye out for rat turds. Then as I look over at the dresser that the cage is on I see a little white head stick out of the second drawer. Eris had had a slumber party in my shirt drawer! The mess on the floor was from something she had knocked over. So now I have two rats again and they will have a very heavy object placed on top of their cage from now on.
PS This weekend was ridiculously awesome and filled with good food and....soda. Lots of...soda.
PSS YAY RED SOX! My God that was one of the funniest games I've ever seen. That blonde dude on the A's provided hours of hilarity. My favorite part was when he whined so much about stubbing his toe that he got tagged out instead of doing the professional baseball player thing and scoring a run for his team. What a pansy.
PSSS Soda is good.

1. Who (multiple people for multiple reasons allowed) has been the biggest influence in your life (family, friends, co-workers, famous people, or enemies)?
Well I couldn't answer this question without mentioning Mom, Dad, and Joyce. The richness with which Mom lives life is an inspiration. Also, she once told me that she knows that no matter what I do in life I'll be a success. That has gotten me through more than she knows. Dad always pushed me to strive higher and be better. "You can always be better than you are" is a motto I've learned to live by. Joyce, to put it simply, is a beacon of strength and selflessness.
The less obvious are Mrs. Smith, Chris Silva, Thomas Marcello, and Jerry Lassos. In 5th grade Mr. Lassos encouraged my writing and stimulated my mind is such a way that I firmly believe he set some of the foundation for who I am today. Mrs. Smith basically saved my life when I was completely destroying myself over school. Her simple words "Grades are not a measure of your self-worth" was the only thing that kept me from having a nervous breakdown junior year. Chris Silva made me realize that you should never settle for normal. If you compare when I began dating him to when I began getting straight A's and joining 8 million extracarriculars, you will find the dates to be quite similar. Finally, M for more things than I can count.
However, everyone in my life has affected me and I love you all! In fact I love you so much that I'm going to stop answering this question now and spare you!
2. If you had a little sister, what would life have been like for her?
I think I would have been very protective and loved her more than anything else on the planet (like someone else I know). Plus, my life would have been easier because I wouldn't have been beaten up by my army of older siblings as much. =o)
3. What characteristics make up your perfect man (both physical and non-physical)?
To put it short: Johnny Depp. "Savvy?" I just want someone who wants to see and do everything and isn't willing to settle for a normal life.
4. If you could go back in time, what would you change about your life and why?
I don't believe in regret simply because few of us ever make mistakes that absolutely ruin our lives. The thing with regret is that it's always something recent. Like there are thing from 5 years ago that I probably would have changed five years ago but now I would never change them because they made me who I am. We are who we are because of the mistakes we've made and how we've dealt with them. But if I HAD to choose something I would TOTALLY begin college over, stay single, and study ALL OF THE TIME. However I didn't so now I have great friends and ridiculous grades to achieve this year. But I'll be even more proud of myself if I pull it off!
5. What are your best and worst childhood memories?
I can't remember. If anyone is really interested, call me and I'll think harder.
THE RULES!

RATS
Since I aim to please and am currently avoiding homework, here's an update on the rats, as requested.
1- Despite what websites tell you, rats do not like baths and should not be given them by any means. My rats had started to stink despite the fact that I was cleaning their cage on a weekly basis so I decided to give them a bath in the bathroom sink using a TINY bit of my shampoo. From the second Scarlet touched the water she completely freaked out. I had claw marks all over my hand for a week. She kept diving at me and at one point flung herself so far that she went right out of the sink onto the bathroom floor. This did not make her any happier. Then she starts squealing so much that I can not take any more of this torture. I take a hand towel and dry her off the best I can, placing her on top of the toilet to wait for her fellow victim. Eris did not take to the water as badly. In fact she sat perfectly still for the primary dip into the water. However, she suddenly decided not to like it and gave me scratches upon scratches on my already ripped up hand. When the shampoo came she really freaked out and followed the same pattern as Scarlet, including falling to the floor. You would think that after the disaster with Scarlet I would have left Eris alone but there was no way I was about to place a dry, fluffy, happy rat next to a soaked, whimpering, pathetic one. Talk about giving them a complex. I would rather they hate me as a team. It is also at this point that I realize that the squealing could come from the fact that they each had a couple of open scratches from all of their play-fighting. That shampoo couldn't have felt very good. That'll teach 'em to fight (it hasn't taught them a damn thing). So I go back into my room and leave my two pathetic looking rats on a chair so they can make themselves presentable again. When they achieved half-fluffiness I died laughing. I wish I had a camera to show you. Once they were dry I picked them up to smell them- they still stunk.
2. My little demons have grown balls of steel. When put on my shoulders they are not afraid to scale down my back unless I'm walking around. They are willing to jump from place to place occasionally and if I have food in their reach, they'll do anything to get it no matter how many times I thump them on the nose. Eris tried to take off with an entire piece of bacon the other day while Scarlet distracted me by trying to haul off a piece of toast that was big as she was. We've already had two code reds of them knocking over a small amount of leftover cup o noodle broth and water.
3. I love my girls to death. Whenever I am home they are out with me. I think they have forgiven me for the bath incident. Right now, I'm using Carina's chemistry set to figure out how to make them live forever.
I have other stories but I'll save them until another request pops up.
Don't want to make my entry too long LEE. Is this short enough for you? Huh? HUH?! Maybe I should just post a link? Mwah!
I am perturbed by what I have seen from the advertising companies lately. I will give the two that perturb me the most as examples to illustrate my point.
Exhibit A: Vanilla Pepsi. The slogan is "The not so-vanilla vanilla." Can someone please explain to me why you would advertise that your VANILLA soda is "not really" vanillay? "We're more of the chocolate sort of vanilla" or "Our vanilla soda is so great that you can't even taste the vanilla!" is what this ad says to me.
Exhibit B (this one really kills me): The clothing ad I saw on the side of a bus today. It was Louis something (designs, fashion, or whatever) and all the ad includes is the name of the brand, a caption that says "Dress responsibly. Avoid Accidents." and this 50 year old guy looking sheepish while a huge wet spot forms in his crotch. So is the message here "Wear our clothes and you won't pee your pants" or "Wear our clothes and you will"? Who thinks of this shit?! Why do people think that some old fart who peed his pants will make me want to buy their clothes?! I would take the half naked Abercrombie models over this!

DRILL TIME. BITCH
Setting: Babcock Training Facility Air Force Lead Lab #5. Each squadron is having a drill down to find it's best four drillers to compete in the wing wide drill down against the other squadrons for wingwar points.
JULIE's BRAIN: Just try not to get out before the freshmen. Come on, they've been here like a month, they got nothing on you. Dear God I'm going to die.
JULIE: I'm in the top four?! I'm going to the wing drill down? Ohhh......Splendid.
JULIE'S BRAIN: How could the other AS200's let this happen? We have drill team members! Why aren't they here!? I don't want to represent my squadron infront of the entire Wing! I'm going to make a complete ass of myself! I'm surrounded in Drill Team members! They're going to eat me alive!
JULIE: This shouldn't be so bad.
JULIE'S BRAIN: Why aren't I out yet? How many people are left????? Left face by the numbers? What the hell....oh shit. Here we go, I'm out, utter humiliation quickly to be followed by death. You all should have known better than to put an AAS member up against of bunch of Drill Team members. I do community service and paperwork for God's sake!
JULIE: Wait...where is everyone else?
CLAROS: You came in fourth place Janson! Awesome!
LARNER: (aka AAS Commander) YEAH JANSON WAY TO REPRESENT AAS!
JULIE: Well ya know, there's still three drill people left.
JULIE'S BRAIN: IN YOUR FACE DRILL TEAM! WOO! WOO! OHHHHH YOU COULDN'T HANDLE THIS?!?! AN AAS MEMBER COMING IN FOURTH PLACE! *chicken dance* WHO SAYS YOU NEED TO BE ON DRILL TEAM TO BE GOOD AT DRILL?!? I FUCKING RULE!
JULIE: Wow, I can't believe I lasted that long.
SPINK: Okay Janson you get fourth place points, the top three cadets came from my squadron, what squadron are you from?
JULIE'S BRAIN: MISSION SUPPORT SQUADRON BITCH!
JULIE: MISSION SUPPORT SQUADRON SIR!!
JULIE'S BRAIN: I'd be skipping home if I wasn't in uniform.
JULIE: *walks home with huge grin on face*
Who says AAS doesn't have top speed cadets? Just the other week Larner tied Fazio (ex Drill Team commander) in the PFT. We Freaking Rule!
